Veteran Northern Virginia Republican leaders recognize Kirk Cox as the Party’s best gubernatorial candidate to take back the Commonwealth

Former Congressman Tom Davis and former State Senator Jeannemarie Davis, on Friday, endorsed Kirk Cox for Governor. Tom Davis represented Virginia’s 11th Congressional District for 14 years, following his tenure as Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Jeannemarie Davis represented a portion of Fairfax County in both the House of Delegates, where she served as Majority Whip, and the State Senate and served in Governor McDonnell’s Cabinet. The pair are prominent Republican leaders in Northern Virginia.

“If Republicans are going to win Virginia in 2021 we must nominate a candidate who can compete in Northern Virginia, and Kirk Cox is that candidate,” said Congressman Davis. “Kirk has consistently won in the suburbs of Richmond and he can translate that success to the suburbs of Northern Virginia. I strongly urge all Republicans to quickly unite behind Kirk so we can take back the Commonwealth in 2021.”

“Kirk and I served together for a decade in the General Assembly, so I know first-hand his passion for public service and his dedication to the people of Virginia,” said Senator Davis. “As Speaker of the House of Delegates, Kirk has proven to be both a tremendously effective leader and legislator who has been effective, without compromising on his core principles, and I know with his many years of experience and proven leadership, he will make an excellent Governor.”

“Jeannemarie and Tom are two outstanding Republican leaders who have both won numerous tough elections through the years,” said Kirk Cox. “They know exactly what it will take to win Virginia in 2021 and I’m honored they have given me their support. Republicans must be more competitive in Northern Virginia and I plan to do exactly that with the help of leaders like Jeannemarie and Tom.”
