Former Virginia Governor George Allen joined John Reid this morning on WRVA to discuss the outlook for Virginia’s GOP and his endorsement of Kirk Cox for Governor. Governor Allen and Former First Lady Susan Allen endorsed Kirk on Tuesday, leading a list of more than 150 elected and grassroots leaders endorsing Kirk.
“We need to be nominating proven, common-sense conservative candidates who have shown an ability to attract people to our side,” said Governor Allen, speaking about Kirk. “I think that it’s important to have candidates with passion and enthusiasm. We need candidates that understand how our ideas can improve schools and opportunities, make our state more competitive; candidates who know how to bring in jobs, and make our communities safer”
Governor Allen added, “He’s a coach, he’s a teacher, a leader, and a legislator who can get things done. It won’t be easy, but we can do it [win statewide] in Virginia with the right message and the right messengers — and I think Kirk Cox would be outstanding at the top of the ticket.”
