Kirk Cox: The Firing of the Parole Board Whistleblower is Completely Wrong

RICHMOND, VA. — Former Virginia House of Delegates Speaker, retired teacher, and candidate for Governor Kirk Cox made this statement following a report that Jennifer Moschetti, a senior investigator with the Office of the Inspector General who investigated complaints against the Parole Board, was fired today.

“Governor Northam’s administration should be firing the people who actually broke the law—not the one who called them out on it,” said Kirk. “This sends a message to all state employees that if they speak out when they see a dereliction of duty, there will be consequences for them rather than for the perpetrators of wrongdoing. Governor Northam needs to step up and demand accountability.”
