Six Former Virginia Beach Republican Party Chairs endorse Kirk Cox for Governor

Six former Virginia Beach Republican Party Chairs endorsed Kirk Cox for Governor Monday. In a video released online, former Virginia Beach GOP Chairs Tina Mapes, David Bartholomew, Ken Longo, Kenny Golden, Colin Stolle, and Al Abiowich endorsed Kirk citing his experience and proven conservative leadership.

“I am so honored to have the support of these grassroots leaders who have worked so hard for our principles in Virginia Beach and across the Commonwealth,” said Cox. “We are building a campaign to fight back, lead forward, and win in 2021, and bringing the entire Republican party together to do it.”

“Kirk’s been there for us for 31 years,” said Kenny Golden, who served as Chairman from 2009 to 2010. “His experience both as Speaker and in 31 years is going to mean a lot to us, particularly in the area of law enforcement, to protect our second amendment rights, and to be a pro-life governor. That’s what we need in this state and I am extremely excited to endorse Kirk.”

“I am supporting Kirk Cox for Governor. He is uniquely suited to lead Virginia,” said Tina Mapes, the immediate past Chair of the Virginia Beach Republican Party. “I appreciate his work for education and law enforcement and I look forward to working with him as Governor of Virginia.”

The endorsements from these Virginia Beach grassroots leaders follows endorsements from Congressman Tom Davis and State Senator Jeannemarie Davis, and State Senator and retired State Trooper Bill Carrico last week.
